Star Power Meets Civic Duty: Rajinikanth, Vijay, Trisha, Kamal Haasan & Others Cast Votes in Tamil Nadu Elections 2026
Chennai, April 23, 2026:
Polling day in Tamil Nadu saw more than just long queues at voting booths—it witnessed some of the biggest names from the film industry stepping out quietly yet purposefully to exercise their democratic right.
Superstar Rajinikanth was among the early voters in Chennai. Dressed simply, he arrived at the polling station without much fanfare, but his presence naturally drew attention. Fans gathered at a distance, capturing moments as he cast his vote and left—letting his action speak for itself.
Actor and political figure Vijay also cast his vote, drawing significant attention from fans and media. Popularly known as “Thalapathy,” his appearance was closely followed, especially as this election holds added importance after his recent political entry. Without making elaborate statements, his participation itself sent a strong message about civic responsibility.
Veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan cast his vote in the city, accompanied by his daughter Shruti Haasan. Known for being vocal about civic issues, Kamal Haasan kept it brief this time, but the message remained clear—participation matters.
Actor Suriya and actress Jyotika arrived together at their polling booth. The couple maintained a low profile while voting, yet their presence still reinforced the idea of leading by example.
Veteran actor Sathyaraj, widely recognized for his role as Kattappa in Baahubali, also participated in the voting process, continuing the trend of senior actors actively engaging in civic duties.
Actress Trisha Krishnan made one of the most talked-about appearances of the day. She arrived with her mother and cast her vote in Chennai, briefly interacting with the media and encouraging citizens to vote. Her simple and genuine approach resonated widely online.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi also cast his vote, maintaining his usual low-key presence. Known for staying away from unnecessary spotlight, he quietly participated in the process, reinforcing that voting is a personal responsibility.
Other notable personalities included Ajith Kumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander, who were also spotted at polling booths across Chennai.
What stood out this year was not dramatic speeches or political endorsements, but quiet participation. Most celebrities chose simplicity, focusing on the act of voting rather than the attention around it. Still, their presence created a ripple effect—drawing crowds, sparking conversations, and reminding people of the importance of voting.
